About Us

The University Park Civic Association is a self-governing, non-profit organization of residents of the Town of University Park, Maryland. The UPCA is interested in hearing from citizens about their community concerns.

The UPCA was formed around 1990 to promote our small Town, and organize and sponsor neighbor-friendly activities for children and adults. Over the years, the UPCA has organized and paid for many events, such as:

  • Annual Spring Stream Clean-UP
  • Fourth of July picnic
  • Halloween Party
  • Winter Holiday Party
  • and many more

These activities have been funded almost exclusively from the $25 annual dues and a yearly contribution from the Town. The activities are always open to all University Park residents and usually there is no fee to attend.

Of the 923 homes in University Park, only 90 are currently paid members of the UPCA. UP has 2,100 residents but only about 10 people attend the monthly meetings, while hundreds enjoy the parties the UPCA sponsors.

UPCA meetings are the last Tuesday at 7:00 PM at Riverdale Presbyterian Church (RPC). They meet from September through May. All residents are invited to attend and give suggestions for upcoming events or new activities the group might sponsor.

Please consider including the modest $25 UPCA dues in your family's budget so we may plan bigger and better parties for the Town residents in 2010. You may send your check payable to UPCA to the treasurer at:
